UHL Season 3 is now underway!
There are a number of changes that will hopefully improve the league in terms of competition and game quality.
The first and biggest change is that we are no longer using calc. Teams will be formed by the use of in-lobby drafts:
!draft - just as we used to use !calc, this will start the draft process once 6 players have joined the game and 10 seconds have passed. The bot will then choose 2 captains. These are decided on the following basis: 60% chance of 1st/2nd being chosen as captains; 30% chance of 3rd/4th being chosen as captains; 10% chance of 5th/6th being chosen as captains. Lower score always has 1st pick. Each captain takes turns picking players using !1, !2, etc. with the lower ranked captain picking first. Once all players have been picked the game starts as it used to.
Additional commands: !auto - if a captain has not picked within 60 seconds, anyone in the game can type !auto to force the captain to randomly pick someone. !random - a captain can use this command to randomly pick someone from the remaining draft list. !list - this will output the remaining players in the draft.
The second big change is the way score changes are dealt with for players in the top 5:
A top 5 player will not receive any points for a win unless there is another player in the game in the top 20. However, that player will still lose points if they lose the game. Players can only be considered in the top 5 ranks once they have played at least 30 games (this might change to 40, haven't decided). Combining these two rules, the first rule will only apply to players that have at least 30 games.
The third change is to do with inactivity penalties, which are now as follows:
Players over 1800 will receive an inactivity penalty of SCORE*0.015 Players over 1700 will receive an inactivity penalty of SCORE*0.01 Players over 1600 will receive an inactivity penalty of SCORE*0.005

1. Reliability: touches/turnovers 2. Efficiency: interceptions/turnovers (convert to %)
Edit: Top 20 season or lifetime?

It's top 20 seasonal as there are inactive players clogging up the ranks on lifetime.

Added a new command/feature: !record (or !r)
!record will capture the previous 12.5 seconds of the game and save it on the web server for replay viewing (just as goals are automatically captured for replays).
Each player has a total of 3 records per game. Once they have used all of their records they will not be able to use the command for the remainder of the game.
!record can only be used by one player at a time and will not be usable until 12.5 seconds after the previous !record. Similarly, goals will count as an automatic !record and the command will not be usable until 12.5 seconds after each goal.

Suggestion/thought: If someone thinks there was something particularly spectacular 12.5s before the start of a goal replay, the use of !r after a goal would capture the 12.5 seconds prior to the start of the goal replay.
PS. You could pair this recording with goal replay on the site and just put a (*) or other identifier to indicate this has happened.

it takes 48 hours to be punished for inactivity.
you wouldn't even lose 20 points though. but lets ignore the fact 2 of your last 3 losses were -20 pts.

Bot Update:
- Added !unready command. If you have already typed !ready, but have changed your mind, you can type !unready to reverse it. - Bot should no longer lag on !draft or when players join the game.
