I've made a few small changes this season.

The rules on this page override the ones on the rules page.

1. Server penalty is now 25 points/day/server for not playing 1mw + 1uk game
You may realize that this is now higher than the amount that you would actually lose if you played and lost a game. This is to deter teams from recruiting players from only one server and sitting out the server penalties.

Updated June 3

Pre-season will be:
Instant stealing on Friday, no dumping players
Instant stealing on Saturday (no steals > $10M), no dumping players
Sunday games start for a bonus day in the 1st week

2. I have increased the points awarded each week to the top 4 teams.

Week 1 : 5 points, 3, 2, 1 for the 1st - 4th place teams
Starts Sunday, June 7 for a 1 day bonus (8 days)

Week 2: 7 points, 5, 3, 2
Starts Monday, June 15

Week 3: 10 points, 7, 5, 3
Starts Monday, June 22

Almost 50% of points are still available in the final week.
This is to encourage teams that are still trailing in the later weeks of the league to keep playing. Even though they are disadvantaged by not doing well in earlier weeks, they're still in the race by a higher points in the later weeks of the league.

3. You will see that i've cleaned up a few of the less useful stats from the players page. I'll try and gradually do this from the other pages. In addition, I have added an "MVP" stat, which is a weighted stat made up of:2*Skill - 20 + CP/10 + 2/5*Games + 20*Win% + 1/100*Points - You can also sort the MVP stat, I think it gives a pretty accurate representation of the contributions and performance of a player.

Hopefully these should encourage more of the right kind of play in the league. Thoughts?

Updated June 3:
1. Further updates include a change to a 3 week format.

The schedule is now:
Week 1 - Hockey or Minisoccer (6 minutes or 10 points, whichever is sooner) - STEALING

Week 2 - Hockey or CTF (Battledome to 2 points) - STEALING
(all steal bids must be made on Wednesday @ 3AM EST, the steal must END no later than Thursday @ 3AM EST)

Week 3 - Hockey only - NO STEALING

2. Alternate map requirements
Each week each team must play at least 5 games total on the alternate map to hockey or suffer a 10 point penalty/game less than 5. I don't think this is a too restrictive and really is just to encourage teams to keep their options open.

3. Penalty for Inactivity
I'm resurrecting a modified UFL rule designed to encourage GMs to play their entire roster. For every player on your team, on the 5th day of not playing, the team will experience a 10 point penalty. For every additional day where that player does not play a game, the team will receive a 2 point penalty.
*** This hasn't worked since the start of the very start of the season so there will be no penalties for inactivity in this season.

4. I have decided to give every GM 5 Trade Credits (TCs) for stealing/dumping instead of 3. I think this might create a little more action and excitement.

5. No GM may have fewer than 2 players from any one server. If a GM is ever in this position then they must take immediate steps to sign a new player from that server.

Updated June 04

1. Subbing Rule Change
I've removed all goal penalties for subbing. Instead, in order to sub you mist fit the following criteria. There are 3 salary brackets for players, 1- 4.75M, 5M - 9.75M, 10M+. Any playing subbing out must be replaced by a player on their team who is in the same salary bracket, or within 1M range of the next bracket (e.g. any player < $6M can go in for a 1st bracket player, any player < $11M can go in for a 2nd bracket player). GMs will be considered to be part of the 10M+ bracket for subbing.

Updated to clarify: In addition, a "better" (higher paid salary) player can sub OUT for a lower salary player but not in for a lower salary player.

For the subbing rule change, wouldn't it be fairer to allow anyone to sub a person that is say, within 2M of the salary of the person subbing out?

Seems kind of unfair that someone with a 4.75M salary couldn't sub in for someone with a 5M salary.

Good point, however a 2M cap wouldn't allow many players to go in for a $1M player. I've decided to use a combination of the current rule plus your idea, please see the updated subbing rule!

Is the penalty for inactivity going to be practical with such large rosters?

I can't speak for every GM, but for me the skill level drops off dramatically after the 6-7th picks and anyone after that isn't really going to be good enough to compete with good players.

I get the feeling some teams will just use this inactivity penalty to their advantage and wait for a suitable time to play their rivals :(

I'm confident that there's more than enough good players to meet 72 drafts.

Your reason kind of supports the need for an inactivity penalty though, unless you're proposing that it be more frequent?
